An open letter dedicated to the people who got infected by COVID-19, and to the families that were affected by this unfortunate event.
Introduction
It’s been a year ever since COVID-19 struck the whole world, many countries even the rich ones were affected by this virus. A lot of people lost their loved ones and some families lost their source of income. Even the stock market, foreign exchange, and other businesses were affected too.
How the COVID-19 pandemic affected us
We understand the difficulties and hardship of this unfortunate event because I too was affected by this since I lost my only source of income and I wasn’t able to find a new one since all hirings were stopped due to the pandemic.
I got depressed because of the things that are happening, knowing that I wasn’t able to help my single-parent mother and my partner who is covering half of the expenses on my behalf. It pains me to see that both of them have to experience this because I cannot do anything at that time.
But other people experience worse, they got infected or someone in their family got infected by COVID-19. I can imagine how devastating it is to feel the fear and pain to see a loved one suffering because of this disease.
Season of lent reflection
In this season of lent, Let’s take this opportunity to reflect on the events that happened in our lives. We should go back to our actions as we learn to accept our mistakes and ask for forgiveness for all the things that we’ve said and done to other people.
Sometimes it saddens me that even at this time, people are still blaming this or that because of the things that are happening. This makes me ask myself a question, is this our fault or someone else’s fault? why did happened to us? did we come short when it comes to the prevention of getting infected?
How society should be doing instead
Regardless of whether whose fault it is, I understand and respect their opinions because I know that they are dismayed by the things and actions made to prevent this from happening.
However, we wish and hope that people should take this time to reflect on their religious values rather than adding fuel to unfortunate events that are happening. Instead, can we just send our prayers to the people who are suffering right now and continue to hope that things will get better?
What we can learn from this COVID-19 pandemic
I believe that this situation is something that will bring many lessons to our lives. And I also believe that the lord almighty will not abandon us during our fight against these unfortunate events. As mentioned in the bible,
Deuteronomy 31:6
“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.” – Deuteronomy 31:6
This reminded me that amid the pandemic we should keep our faith intact, our families intact, and that we should stay strong no matter how hard and painful it is. Because if we reach out to the lord there is comfort in his presence. As stated,
Psalm 147:3
“He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.” – Psalm 147:3
My prayers to you
And for the people, families who got infected by the first strain and new strain of COVID 19 around the globe, We would like to send our prayers and hopes to you.
May the Lord almighty bless you with the strength to hold on and continue your fight as the Lord will never leave your side during this time. And may the Lord heal those people who got infected by COVID-19.
We are also sending our prayers to those who are experiencing depression right now, May the Lord bless and heal your pain and suffering.
Inspiring words from the bible
Please hold on and continue to fight your battles in life and keep on praying for guidance as you move on and find purpose and happiness in your life. Please remember that,
Lamentations 3:47-48
“We have suffered terror and pitfalls, ruin and destruction. Streams of tears flow from my eyes because my people are destroyed.” – Lamentations 3:47-48
Meaning that the lord is not oblivious to our pain and sufferings. For those who call out to him, he is there to provide peace and heal us. Please continue to have faith. And let’s hope together that the whole world will be able to fight COVID-19 completely.
Psalm 55:22
“Cast your cares on the Lord and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous be shaken.” – Psalm 55:22
“When we send our cares, our worries, and our praises to the Lord, he hears us and grants his blessings to those who claim his name. The Lord said, more than once, that he would never cast his eyes from his children when they called out to him. We cannot hope to begin the change on this planet if we continue to ignore the person who loves us the most.”
