Introduction
This time we will be listing 10 Awesome Mind-Twisting Movies. In the past movie recommendations, we made a two-part under the Horror Category. Now, We will be giving you movies that have mind-twisting plots. With that being said, Let us proceed with our list!
1. Zodiac (2007)
First on our list of Mind-Twisting Movies is Zodiac, In the late 1960s and early 1970s, a cartoonist becomes an amateur detective obsessed with tracking down the “Zodiac Killer”, an unidentified individual who went on a killing spree in Northern California.
This movie has a star-studded cast which includes Jake Gyllenhaal (Mysterio, Spiderman far from home), Robert Downey Jr. (Ironman), and Mark Ruffalo (Hulk, Avengers). Take note that this movie’s runtime is almost 3hrs. It might be quite long for some people, however, I assure you that this movie is great.
2. Memento (2000)
This movie is Christopher Nolan‘s second movie in mainstream films. The story is about a man with short-term memory loss, who attempts to find the killer of his wife. The movie has many twists and turns which will make you wonder what is happening. However, I can guarantee you that this movie will exceed your expectations.
3. Shutter Island (2010)
Martin Scorsese is a known director for Mafia Related movies, and he moves away from his comfort zone in this movie. The movie is all about a detective who came to an island to investigate a murderer who escaped from a hospital of criminally insane. The main cast includes Leonardo De Caprio, Mark Ruffalo, and Ben Kingsley.
4. Identity (2003)
Identity is all about ten strangers stranded in a motel, become acquainted with each other when they begin to be terrorized by a killer, who might be one of them. If you love Murder-Mystery films this one is highly recommended for you.
5. Exam (2009)
The exam is a little bit of an Indie film due to a cast that is not too well know. But do not let it fool you, this movie is good more than you expected. The movie is about Eight candidates who are applying for a desirable corporate job who are locked together in a room to take an exam and they were given a final test that made them show their true personalities.
6. The Prestige (2006)
This is the second Christopher Nolan movie on our list. The story is about two magicians who battled each other to create the ultimate illusion while pushing each other’s capabilities. Well, what can I say? It’s Christopher Nolan that we are talking about. Guaranteed, This movie is great.
7. Old-Boy (2003, Korean)
This is the only Korean Movie on our list. We included this in our list because of its climactic ending that will blow your mind. The movie is all about a man who was imprisoned for 15 years, without knowing the reason why.
Which makes him avenge and look for the mastermind behind his imprisonment, only to find out that he has 5 days left to hunt down the mastermind. Since this movie is so good. Even America made their version of Old Boy. Warning! This movie includes graphic scenes which are not suitable for minor.
8. The Game (1997)
You cannot deny that Michael Douglas is one of the greatest actors in Hollywood. From Basic Instinct, Wallstreet up to his roles in Ant-man as Hank Pym. However, there is one of his movies that stands out in our opinion which made it on our list.
And that is The Game, the movie is all about a rich banker who was invited to participate in a mysterious game which later flips his life upside down as he tries to figure out if is it still a game or is it real.
9. The Butterfly Effect (2004)
Ashton Kutcher is one of the “hottest” actors in Hollywood because of his “Boy-next-door” kinda look. However, he is not just good looks. Ashton Kutcher is recognized to be a method actor just like Marlon Brando and Robert De Niro.
Anyways, his movie The Butterfly Effect showed his capabilities as an actor in serious roles. The Butterfly Effect is all about Evan Treborn who suffers blackouts during significant events of his life. As he grows up, he manages to find a way to remember some of his lost memories, and supernaturally, he was able to alter his life by just reading his journal. Talking about altering life choices? This is perfect for you.
10. Fight Club (1999)
Last but not least on our movie recommendation is Fight Club. This movie was so great, that not a lot of people knew that there is a scene here that was true! Like punching your co-actor in the ear 馃槀. Fight Club is all about An insomniac office worker met this devil-may-care soapmaker, which inspires him to form an underground fight club and later evolves into something much, much more. Imagine having Brad Pitt and Edward Norton in one movie? Guaranteed to be a must-watch film!
