Introduction
Alright! We are back for the second part of 10 Horror Movies that will haunt you and your dreams! If you haven’t checked our previous list feel free to check it out Take me there. However, if you are ready let’s get down to it!
Note: This list consists of Multinational Films. We will be excluding movies that are considered to be Thriller rather than Horror Category in IMDB.
10 Horror Movies that will haunt your dreams!
1. [Rec] (2007)
Are you a fan of Found-Footage movies? If so, then this movie is perfect for you. [Rec] is a Spanish movie that is all about a reporter and her crew that was observing an emergency team. Which later received an emergency call about this apartment building.
Together with the emergency team, they went inside the building, which exposed the dark and horrific things going on inside making them fight for their survival. The scenes in this movie will make your heart pound fast.
2. The Crazies (2010)
Remember one of the 10 commandments “Love your neighbors”? Well, in this film you will have a doubt about doing it. The Crazies is all about a plane that crashed in a small town, which later the townspeople suddenly experiencing “Craziness” which makes them violent and murderous.
Imagine the horror of not knowing which person is infected and which is not. There are a lot of disturbing and scary scenes in this movie. However, If you are looking for some scary flick this one is definitely worth watching.
3. The Orphanage (2007)
Original Title: El orfanato, Spanish
We all know that haunted house stories are such a cliche, However, The Orphanage offers a different approach when it comes to its scary and disturbing scenes. The movie is all about a woman who brings her family backs to a home that was used as an orphanage for handicapped children, which later her son starts to communicate with an invisible friend.
This movie is a slow burn in a way, which unravels the dark background of the orphanage. Side note: The movie’s executive director is the award-winning Guillermo Del Toro director of the first Pacific Rim Movie.
4. Grave Encounters (2011)
Another found-footage movie in our list, even for an indie film. Grave encounters offer scary scenes that will definitely make you scream and will make you cover your eyes whilst watching it. The movie is all about a group of paranormal experts who explores haunted areas for their TV Show.
Which they’ve decided to lock themselves inside an abandoned mental institution which later on makes them regret, finding out that all the stories they heard are true. There is a sequel for this movie, though it is scary somehow it didn’t exceed the expectation from the first film.
5. Dead Silence (2007)
James Wan is called the “Master of Horror Movies” for a reason. After the success of the first Saw movie, many people and even critics considered James Wan the Master of Horror movies, because of the dedication to his craft which the viewers saw how he manage to level up the horror movies in this New Era.
However, before “The Conjuring”, “Insidious”, and Aquaman. James Wan made the “Dead Silence” which was released after the first Saw movie. The movie is all about a young widower who returned to his hometown in search for answers about his wife’s murder.
Which is somehow related to a deceased ventriloquist. YES! you read it right, puppets. After you watch this movie, trust me! you will be scared of puppets for quite some time. And that ending will surely shock you!
6. Crawl (2019)
Imagine you are trapped in your home infested by bloodthirsty alligators in a devastating hurricane. Sounds pretty scary right? That is what the movie is all about. Haley visited their home in search of her father because her father hasn’t evacuated yet.
Upon her search, she found out that their home is now infested by alligators. A movie about fighting for survival and full of heart-pounding scenes.
7. Halloween (2018)
There is no horror list that doesn’t include this movie! Why? Because Halloween movies are a cult classic. Which started in 1978, and until now it is one of the best horror movie ever made!
But, as the series expanded the horror quality reduces as well. However, the recent remake exceeded the expectation of many people. Because, the story, the screenplay, is excellent! And yes, Michael Myers is back!
8. Hell House LLC
This is the last found-footage type of movie on our list. This might be an indie film. However, this movie is worth the watch. The movie is all about an unexpected malfunction that occurred 5 years ago, where 15 tour-goers and staff on a Halloween opening night. A documentary team tries to unravel the story behind the said incident.
If James Wan is the “Master of Horror Movies”, Recently there is someone who was recognized to be the “New Master of Horror Movies” and that is no other than Mr. Jordan Peele. Who was started as an Actor mostly in comedy movies and TV sitcoms, Jordan Peele went to Directing films as well.
After the success of the Award Winning movie “Get Out“. He made another film called “Us”. The movie is about a family who was having a vacation, suddenly a couple of their Doppelgangers appeared and begin to terrorize them.
This movie so scary, knowing that there are claims that the “Theory of Parallel Universe” is true. Which comes to my mind, What would I do if I see a person who looks like me?
10. Hereditary (2018)
And the last movie on our list but definitely not the least. Director Ari Aster is also making his legacy when it comes to Horror Movies, Just like Jordan Peele. However, Ari Aster differs from other Horror Movie directors.
He puts mind-twisting and severely disturbing images in his films. Which will make you think about it again after you watch the film. That is Ari Aster’s greatness. He made his horror movie debut “Hereditary”.
A movie about a family being haunted by tragic and very disturbing occurrences. Seriously, This movie is so disturbing and very scary. Even if it is a slow-burning movie. I guarantee you it is worth watching.
