The first on our list of horrifying movies are Phobia & Phobia 2 is a horror movie from Thailand, This movie consists of 4 segments of stories. If you are looking for a movie that will stay in your mind for a few days this movie is a must-watch. Especially the last story of the Phobia! You will get scared every time you hear a coughing sound. Even until now, I get chills by just remembering that scene.
2. Trick R Treat (2007)

Trick R Treat is an American horror movie, just like Phobia is consists of several segments. However, Trick R Treat consists of 5 interwoven stories altogether. The screenplay and writing of this movie are so good. A hidden gem.
3. Ring (1998)

Ring or Ringu is a Japanese horror movie. The story is about a reporter who investigates a “Cursed Videotape” that rumored to kill the viewer in 7 days. This movie became a cult classic and even inspired American Filmmakers to create their own.
But nothing beats the original! This movie hunted my dreams for weeks because of the phobic scenes and scenarios in the movie. The eerie sounds and disturbing images will scare the bejesus out of you.
4. The Grudge (2002)

Does the name Toshiro ring a bell? If not then you are one the of people who haven’t watched this movie yet! The Grudge (Ju-on, Original Title) is a Japanese horror movie. About a mysterious spirit that pursues anyone who dares to enter the house. If you are thinking that this movie is just about a hunted house and it’s not scary. I dare you to watch this.
5. Shutter (2004)

Shutter is a Thailand movie which is all about a photographer and his girlfriend discover a mysterious shadow that always shows in their photos. This movie not just offers the scare that you are looking for but also the story itself which will uncover the dark secrets as the movie progress towards the end.

The ring is about a cursed videotape that hunts the viewer. However, What if the film you watched in the movie theater is cursed that when the cursed spirits get the victim you will be stuck in the film forever with that spirit as it consumes your life? Pretty scary right?
Coming Soon is aThailand horror movie which maybe you think a ring rip-off, but I am telling you right now it’s not. This movie’s concept is purely original and offers a different scare that will shiver down to your spine as you watch it until the credits roll.
7. Don’t Breathe (2016)

Okay, We’ve given you mostly ghost stories. However, This movie is not about ghosts or the supernatural. Don’t Breathe is a different story though. It is all about some small-time robbers who snuck inside a blind man’s house. A quite easy task right?
But it turned out bad because the blind man is much of a predator rather than a sheep. Which exposed his dark background as the story progresses. Imagine the horror that you have to breathe quietly otherwise he will know where you are hiding. Definitely will make your heart pounding fast on every scene.
8. A Tale of Two Sisters (2003)

Have you heard of the saying “Evil Stepmother” on Disney stories? Well, this is the story of a tale of two sisters. A story of two sisters who came back from a mental institution, thus while they are dealing with their recovery they encountered a ghost that affects their recovery progress. This movie has its twist and turns as the story progresses so get ready to get your mind blown and scared at the same time.
9. The Host (2006)

This is one of the best Korean horror movies that I watched before Train to Busan. This movie is all about a monster that emerges from the river and began attacking people. Just a side note, The director of this movie is Bong Joon Ho. The outstanding director of the movie Snowpiercer (2013), Okja (2017), and the award-winning movie Parasite (2019). Therefore, I can guarantee you that this movie is so good. A movie packed with scenes that will put you on the edge of your seats, and heart-melting scenes at the same time.
10. The Wailing (2016)

Down to our last recommendation of horrifying movies for you guys! This may be the last on our list, however, we can guarantee you that this movie is great. The wailing is a movie about this mystery going on in a small village because of the arrival of a stranger. Which soon after his arrival causes the villagers to get sick. A policeman gets involved with the case since his daughter got sick as well.
Note that the movie is a slow-burning movie and has a runtime of 2hrs and 30mins. However, we can guarantee you that this movie offers scary and disturbing scenes (especially the ending) and has a lot of twists and turns as the story progresses which makes you think about who is the cause of this illness that going on in the village? I don’t know but somehow after I watched this movie I wasn’t able to sleep that night because of that ending scene.
